The Squire’s Tale

Gerald Morris

“This book is excellent because while a definite fantasy-adventure read (set in the time of King Arthur), it includes generous helpings of comedy and magic. There is also a smattering of romance (not enough to turn boys off: this isn’t a “kissing book”), but much more importantly there are characters of every kind and both genders. This is a book about boys which includes girls without hitting anyone over the head with it. I read it when I was 11, laughing aloud at several parts, and loved it for the story and engaging characters. I read it now, almost two decades later, and love it for the themes of loyalty, true bravery, and free will.”
