Paranoid Park

Blake Nelson

He has a secret that’s crushing and suffocating him, so he writes annoynmous letters trying to explain himself, to understand how this could have happened to him: how an innocent enough trip to the skateboard park could result in him taking a man’s life. By mistake. Not intentionally. But still, that security guard was chopped in two by a train, and there’s no taking that back. The unnamed narrator just has to live with it. If only he can figure out how to do that, how to move on when guilt gnaws and won’t let go.

Made into an equally dark and suspenseful flick by Gus Van Sant.
