How it Went Down

Kekla Magoon

This timely book looks at the effects on the people and the community, through a multitude of voices, in the aftermath of the kind of shooting that is all-too-common today. The book is a great way to explore some of these themes and issues that are hard to discuss, even when discussion is often a must. It’s handled well, but definitely for mature readers, and best if opportunities for discussion with friends or an adult is possible. Because this book, like the truths it’s inspired by, are disturbing and frightening.
