October is the Readingest Month
We just made that up. But it could be true because there are so many great new books that come out in the fall. This year there is a a new Diary of A Wimpy Kid book, a new Origami Yoda book, a new Brian Selznik book, a new Big Nate book . . .
So excuse us for not writing more, but we’ve got October reading to do.

It’s September!
And that means all kinds of great new books coming out. For starters, check out the two just above – Dead End in Norvelt and Heart and Soul. Two completely different books, but each great in it’s own way.

GUYS READ Thriller Panel at BEA
Huge thanks to Eoin Colfer, Mac “Mustache” Barnett, Matt de la Pena, Jack Gantos, Jarrett Krosoczka, and Jordan Brown for rocking the talk about guys and reading in the middle of thousands of booksellers swarming the Javits Convention Center in NYC last week. Jarrett won the Full Commitment Award for dressing in his red pleather Michael Jackson “Thriller” outfit.

The Guys Read Library of Great Reading
may sound like an awfully long title. But it’s a really long project. You can read about it and see more about it in that box to the left over there. But we are so excited about putting together these volumes that we are writing about it everywhere.
Volume 2, GUYS READ:THRILLER is just going into copyediting now. To be published in Fall 2011. Brett Helquist is painting the cover. Original stories by Anthony Horowitz, Walter Dean Myers, Margaret Peterson Haddix, Matt de la Pena, Jarrett Krosoczka, Bruce Hale, James Patterson, Gennifer Choldenko, Patrick Carman, and one M.T. Anderson. Wow.
