GUYS READ is a nonprofit literacy
initiative founded by Jon Scieszka, and is a sponsored
project of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). www.nyfa.org
This website has been funded by Jon Scieszka, the
generous contributions of works by the writers and
illustrators featured in the anthology, GUYS WRITE
FOR GUYS READ (to be published Spring 2005), and by
the publisher of the anthology, Penguin Putnam books.
I thought about asking people for contributions to
GUYS READ. But I decided it would probably make more
sense for people to spend their contributions on putting
together their own GUYS READ program. Give your contribution
to yourself, your school, your library.
And I would love to come and visit each and every
one of you and talk about GUYS READ . . . but I can’t.
So I’ve included everything you need to start
your own GUYS READ program right here on this website.
And I encourage you to go to it.
